During the year 2024, Myanmar continued to face significant macroeconomic challenges. However, the Government has also implemented several new policies in an attempt to stabilise the country’s economy.

Overall, the legal and economic prospects for Myanmar will heavily depend on political developments. As of now, general elections are expected to be held in November 2025. If Myanmar can move toward stabilisation and reform, there is potential for gradual improvements in both areas.
