Rajah & Tann Contributes to Lexology In-Depth: Employment Law – Myanmar chapter

Rajah & Tann Asia Myanmar member firm Rajah & Tann Myanmar Company Limitedhas contributed to the Myanmar chapter of Lexology In-Depth: Employment Law (formerly The Employment Law Review), an insightful global survey of the employment law frameworks and related developments in key jurisdictions around the world. It explores current issues faced by employers, and covers recent case laws, legislative and regulatory changes and best practices.

Authored by Dr Min Thein (Managing Director), Chester Toh (Co-head of Myanmar Practice) and Lester Chua (Partner), the Myanmar chapter provides an overview of the employment framework in Myanmar and a year-in-review of the employment landscape in the country. The SME Magazine: “Investing in Myanmar - not when but how”

Chester Toh, Director of Rajah & Tann Myanmar, and Alroy Chan from the Corporate Commercial Practice, wrote an article in the January / February 2019 issue of The SME Magazine, the bi-monthly publication for the small- and medium-sized enterprises of The Business Times.

Despite sluggish economic growth and socio-political controversies, Myanmar remains a compelling investment destination in light of legal and leadership reforms. In the article titled “Investing in Myanmar - not when but how”, Chester and Alroy share four key insights on why investing in Myanmar is not a matter of when, but how.

 

The SME Magazine: "Monetising Myanmar’s Potential"

This article, penned by Co-head of Myanmar Practice Chester Toh, appeared in the September / October 2017 issue of The SME Magazine, the bi-monthly publication for the small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of The Business Times. In this article, Chester noted that the opening up of Myanmar has given rise to tremendous business opportunities especially in the information technology (IT) sector. Consequently, more investors and businesses flock the country to take advantage of the burgeoning IT sector. Entities looking to tap into the Myanmar market should balance the risks and rewards when approaching the opportunities on offer in Myanmar.
